There’s a cheesy saying that ‘not all who wander are lost’.  This is especially true for this desert loving couple who seeked solace and solitude in the heart of Utah’s Canyon Country. 

Balancing time earning master degrees from Brown University, telemark skiing competitions across the West, and rappelling into unknown slot canyons, these clients were searching for a simple home to hang their hats and harnesses.  The result of the collaboration is an elegant design that blends into the surrounding sandstone bluffs and perfectly frames the hoodoos beyond.  An exercise in minimalism, the layout is practical, comfortable and filled with natural light. 

Wrap-around porches protect from the harsh summer sun, while a line of high efficiency skylights overhead embrace the light.  Excited to watch the desert flowers bloom from this gem!
